Random journal scraps
These journal scraps are often found in loot bags and random locations. Although some have pertained to the team's adventure, others are random flavor adding to the world depth, feature characters or tidbits that may never become relevant. They are listed here with the most recently found first.

Els continues to miss her best friend, but I’m sure Symon is no different. Little Kali keeps Els content well enough until we can see each other again, so long as Kali doesn’t get lost outside or buried under a pile of Els’s clothes.I don’t expect we’ll see each other anytime soon, though, with the state of things. It’s becoming less safe to travel than I’ve ever known it to be. Els is eager to try, but I can’t imagine it. I can’t risk her safety. If the opportunity arises, we’ll make our way to Secomber when we can.

We didn’t even try a very complicated spell. A cantrip, one of the most basic of basic things. But when Elaim cast Sacred Flame, everything around us erupted with Radiant energy. Earth tore apart, stones shattered, and every green thing was burned as far as I could see, after I could see again. When I could pick myself up from the broken ground, I didn’t see the gnoll. At least, I didn’t see any pieces larger than a boot. But I also didn’t see Elaim. Gods help him. I hope he died fast.

Test 16 did not go well. Aelar volunteered, I have to keep reminding myself. We all knew the risks. We had seen the unintended consequences often enough to be rightly afraid. But I myself will not try a spell again. Not after what I saw happen to poor Aelar. I suppose all forms of teleportation are likely to be off the table, but for now we know at least that Misty Step is ... unwise to use. With so few clerics left, we resorted to tourniquets to staunch the bleeding. Aelar will live, we think.

I’ve heard that casters are afraid to cast spells. Serves ‘em right. I’ve been afraid of casters casting spells for as long as I remember. Maybe now they’ll get a taste of their own medicine. If this Greypeak job turns out to be half as easy as it looks to be, we’ll be living the good life from here out.

Dragontongue seems to be more common than silverleaf or earthroot, and maybe that’s why it’s used in so many of the recent alchemical mixtures that have been showing up in stores. So far as I can tell, silverleaf doesn’t have any intrinsic healing properties of note, but none of the mixtures I’ve tried have worked half so well without it. I suspected earthroot was added merely for flavor, but when I gave Felix a sample without it, his hair turned shock white and started falling out in clumps.
Back to the drawing board, I suppose.

Teiko is bringing another shipment of steel and raw material up the Delimbiyr River next week. The woods are full of freelance bandits loyal to no one, and if we want the Sightless Eye to have any hope of bringing them together and make something useful, we need these resources. He’ll send word when the time is right to make the move.

Yasuko,
these icons are all I could gather that met the conditions you set. I apologize that so many of them are for gods and goddesses that mean little to your efforts as a priestess, but each of them has been blessed by their patrons and used for many years.
I included a pendant for Lliira, which you gave to me some time ago. I’ve asked one of the smiths in Coral’s Edge to make another one. I’ve also placed an order for several figurines in her likeness that you could use for your temple. They should be ready when the glasswork is done, so you may be able to combine them for the project you mentioned.
Give my love to Philomena.
