A mysterious gem with great potential, crafted by the artisans of the Sunderguard. This jewel imbues a weapon with additional strength. Adventurers are limited to 3 different equipped jewel augmentations.
When wielding a weapon that is neither two-handed or versatile, attacks deal additional damage of the weapon's type and may apply other mastery effects (Vex, Sap, and Slow).
Details
Increasing the level of this jewel increases the additional damage that is added to the attack and applies additional mastery effects. At higher levels, this jewel can apply multiple mastery effects, but these effects do not combine with other weapon Mastery Properties (such as Cleave), they only affect the primary attacked target.
If a player is using a weapon which already has a Mastery Property that would be applied by this jewel, increase the number of damage dice rolled by 1. For instance, a player using a Rapier with the Finesse property and Vex Mastery using a level 2 jewel would roll 2d6 additional piercing damage while still applying the Vex Mastery effect from the weapon itself.
Note: unlike the Slow Mastery Property, the slow effect applied by this jewel stacks and can reduce an enemy's speed to 0.
Mastery Properties:
Vex - If you hit a creature and deal damage, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature until the end of your next turn.
Sap - If you hit a creature, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll until the start of your next turn.
Slow - If you hit a creature and deal damage, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.
